“Go ahead, Taozi. It’s not like I have anything else to lose.” Kris’ voice is steady despite the shivering of his body and the fog escaping his lips with every word and breath. He shivers not only because he’s cold, he shivers because he is breaking down inside. But he doesn’t want the man pointing a gun to his head to know that. “Go ahead Taozi,” he repeats.

Zitao’s hand trembles as he tries so hard not to cry because fuck, I can’t do this but I have to. “Stop calling me Taozi,” he cries out. 

“Fine. Go ahead, Zitao. Pull the trigger. I have nothing else to lose because I lost everything when I lost you.” That was Zitao’s trigger. He lets the gun fall out of his hands as he drops to his knees, shaking and trembling. 

Wufan can only feel enraged when he sees Zitao on the ground. “I told you to go ahead, dammit. Why didn’t you pull the trigger? Why didn’t you end me? Why are you letting me live knowing the fact that you walked away from me and now I can’t have you? Dammit, Huang Zitao, answer me!” Kris roars out.

For the first time in a long time, Zitao flinches.
